Ready For Business? A new program by CSO to develop enterprise by women in the community

Overview: Developing Enterprise in the Community Programme

Would you like help to set-up your own community enterprise?

If so, a new programme is being offered by CSO to help you do just that!

CSO is delivering an exciting programme that was developed by skillful business leaders for the EU Life Long Learning Programme 2015. The course aims to help women particularly from the Somali community to start their own business. We will help participants develop their ideas, to think creatively and positively, with key business skills including strategic thinking, business planning, communication and team building as well as soft skills that will enable them to become more confident, resourceful and enterprising.

The Developing Enterprise in the Community Project will enable students to combine theoretical learning with practical knowledge supplied by the delivery team so as to enable them to make a success of their own business.

Participants will be required to commit to a 4 month learning journey. You must attend seven sessions consisting of 3 hours each, which will take place on selected Thursdays and Saturdays. Please see the timetable attached. Included in the course materials will be a reflective workbook, which will allow participants to explore their strengths and weaknesses and enable them to learn more about themselves through structured learning. Upon successful completion, participants will receive certificates of achievement at a ceremony held at Voluntary Action Islington.

Eligibility & Deadline:

Participants must be women (*since women are underrepresented in small local enterprises).

The deadline to apply to this training programme is 30th June 2017 at 5 p.m.
